NJIFMA Position: Chapter President
Name: Carol Hart, RPA
Title: Director of Space Preparation
Employer: Federal Business Centers
Role with company: As VP of
Facility Management for a third party
provider, oversight of 8 mil SF of assignments for several clients in

states; lead team of 50+ property professionals providing services to
the
portfolio; track performance; reduce operating expenses through value
engineering; prepare RFP responses for facility management services.
Years as IFMA member: 3 years
Reason for joining IFMA: Membership in a
professional association provides
a great opportunity to network with peers, to learn and share best
practices,
and to keep current with products and services that add value to
clients and
employers.
Reason for joining the Board: I quickly
realized that the Board was a
welcoming, supportive group who were working hard to provide valuable
resources
to the membership, and I wanted to be an active participant.
NJIFMA Position: First Vice President
Name: Joe Wyatt, LEED AP
Title: Facilities and Infrastructure Manager
Employer: Duke Farms Foundation
Role with company: Responsible for strategic
facility planning,
and daily operations of facilities support groups to make an inviting,
inclusive and efficient work place to meet the needs of the
corporation's business operations.
Years as IFMA member: 5 years
Reason for joining IFMA: Most of my professional
life I spent
either in the areas of construction (eleven years), or in Facilities
Management for (twenty nine years). In about 1990 while at Drexel
University, I became a member of the Delaware Valley Chapter of IFMA.
While in these positions I have effectively managed all aspects of
Maintenance/Facilities/Construction Management with extensive
experience in predictive and preventive maintenance, programming,
planning, scheduling, proposal justification, master and strategic
planning, as well as budgetary development, control and reporting. .
Reason for joining the Board: I would envision
working with our
chapter on issues of sustainability and how we could reduce the carbon
foot prints of our properties while maintaining if not lowering cost. I
would love to have the opportunity to share what I know with our
members and help them become better stewards of both our natural and
built environments.
NJIFMA Position: Second Vice President
Name: Liz McKevitt
Title: Associate,
Facilities Management
Employer: BlackRock Inc.
Role with company: It is my job to create an
environment that
encourages productivity; is safe and efficient; is pleasing to clients
and customers and meets government regulations. I am
responsible
for a wide range of function and support services, including security,
office management, engineering services, construction/project
management, space planning, accounting, mail and messenger services,
reception, records management and life safety.
Years as IFMA member: 4 years
Reason for joining IFMA: I wanted to network with my
peers and learn from their experiences.
Reason for joining the Board: Before becoming a
facility
professional I had never heard of Facility Management. I was
introduced to this wonderful career and lifestyle when I was an
Administrative Assistant to the head of Corporate Services.
He
became my mentor and support system. His trust in me and
patience
to teach was invaluable. I want to do the same for others so
that
no one will ever say “what is a Facility Manager?”.

Position: Education Committee Chair

Role with company: As Senior Manager of Facilities
Planning & Design at sanofi-aventis, I am responsible for a
wide-range of planning activities in support of the Pharmaceutical
Operations
business unit. Responsibilities range from strategic planning &
workspace standards to facility databases and move & furniture
services. Work is
performed in a collaborative environment, working closely with both
business leaders and colleagues within the facility management
organization.

Reason for joining IFMA: A
member of IFMA since 1993, I became active in the New Jersey Chapter
after moving to the state in 2000. I recognized that my active
involvement would be the best way to meet peers in the facility
management industry and develop a professional network. In addition to
the networking, I was looking for a way to continue my career
development through education and professional development
opportunities.
Reason for heading
a Committee:
I have always felt that offering relevant & timely educational
programs is a key to the success of a chapter. Being involved in the
Education Committee affords the opportunity to help ensure that the
programs are valuable to our members and keeps me focused on the
current issues facing the FM community. As an all-volunteer
organization, the chapter provides members the chance to hone their
leadership skills through committee involvement. In my case, I'm doing
this by serving as the Education Committee Chair.

relationships with sub-consultants, identifying public project opportunities,
public relations, website development, and strategic marketing

over 35 years of corporate communications, public relations and marketing. Over
these years I have worked with many different associations on various
committees. I feel that with my years of experience I can help NJ-IFMA achieve
a stronger brand position in its field.
